Yellow Army Support Oxford United in the Community
The donation further demonstrates the continued support the group has shown for the Club’s Official Charity, and will help fund their mission to inspire happier, healthier and better-connected communities.
Oxford United in the Community extended their gratitude to members of the Yellow Army by inviting them for a tour of the Training Centre last week.
Chris Lowes, COO at Oxford United in the Community, said: “It’s fantastic the Yellow Army can further support the work we do with their donation.
“The charity sector is struggling at the moment so this donation really does help us to go and deliver our charitable activities.
“For instance, one of the programmes we are running right now is our Tri-Stars programme which offers weekly football sessions for people living with Down’s Syndrome.
“This donation will really help to stabilise that and enable us to run it for the next year so we are very grateful.”
Michael North of the Yellow Army said: “We raise the money through Oxford United fans donating us their memorabilia and we then sell that back to other supporters.
“It was a no-brainer to support Oxford United in the Community. A lot of the work they do goes unrecognised and so we want to do as much as we can to help them.”
