Become a Trustee of Oxford United in the Community

2nd October 2026
Could you bring your skills, experience and enthusiasm to a Charity making a difference to local people’s lives?

Oxford United in the Community (OUitC) is the Official Charity of Oxford United Football Club. We are an independent registered charity, using the power of football and the Oxford United badge to connect communities, widen opportunities and help people thrive.

Our values are at the heart of how we work: Outstanding, United, Inclusive, Trustworthy and Committed. We believe everyone should feel welcome, respected and able to participate. We are looking for Trustees who share that belief and want to help us turn it into meaningful action.

Who we are looking for:

We welcome expressions of interest from people with a range of professional and lived experiences. We are especially keen to hear from applicants with expertise in:

  • Human Resources and Organisational Development: supporting our people, developing leadership and building a positive, inclusive culture.
  • Finance: strengthening financial oversight, planning and long-term sustainability.
  • Fundraising: helping us grow income, develop partnerships and build relationships with supporters and funders.
  • Safeguarding: helping ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults involved in our work.

You do not need previous trustee experience or a background in football. What matters is your commitment to our charitable purpose, sound judgement, willingness to contribute and ability to work constructively with others.

What the role involves:

As a Trustee, you will help shape the Charity’s direction, oversee its resources and impact, and support and constructively challenge its leadership. Together, the Board is responsible for ensuring OUitC is well governed, sustainable and true to its mission and values.

You will need to make time for Board meetings, preparation and agreed contributions between meetings. This is a voluntary, unpaid role offering a meaningful opportunity to use your experience for the benefit of local communities.

We want our Board to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. A commitment to inclusion, integrity and safeguarding is essential for every Trustee.

Interested? We would love to hear from you.

Please send a CV or brief summary of your experience, together with a short statement explaining why you would like to join our Board and what you could contribute, to [email protected]. You are also welcome to contact us for an informal conversation or to discuss any support you need to apply.

Recruitment is ongoing, with no closing date. We welcome expressions of interest throughout the year and will consider them as suitable Board opportunities arise.
