Sam Gilly to Run London Marathon for Ectopic Pregnancy Trust
Sam will be running the London Marathon in April 2027 to raise money for the charity that supported her through her own ectopic pregnancy. She was diagnosed with having an ectopic pregancy in 2023 which, after emergency surgery, resulted in Sam being unable to have children.
Sam said: “The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust really supported me through my traumatic experience and I want to give back to them.
“I spoke to Oxford United in the Community who kindly said they would assist in providing a raffle prize. We’ve come down today and had a tour of the Training Centre, and fingers crossed, with the raffle, we’ll raise lots of funds for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.”
Oxford United in the Community have provided Sam with a 2026/27 home shirt, signed by the Men’s First Team, to be sold as part of a charity raffle in Hampshire in October.
Rob Huff, of Oxford United in the Community, said: “When Sam got in contact with us, it was a story that we thought was really powerful and touched us as a community.
“Being able to supply her with a signed shirt was something that we were really happy to do and we hope it can support her in her journey.”
