Jenna Legg Donates Football Boots to School
Jenna Legg visited a local primary school to donate football boots after learning about the difficulty that many of the children had in accessing appropriate footwear.
The Oxford United Women midfielder first visited Wood Farm Primary School in Oxford back in February as part of a visit coordinated by Oxford United in the Community.
“Last time I was at Wood Farm, I met a lovely group of girls who were super passionate about football but I heard that between them, they didn’t have enough boots for their football team,” said Jenna.
Wood Farm Primary School set up a new girls’ football team in September 2025, but only two children could access football boots – with the rest of the students struggling to take part due to the barrier of not having appropriate footwear.
Upon hearing this, Jenna worked with eco-friendly boot manufacturer Sokito and fashion charity Traid to organise a donation of football boots, enabling the whole team to play and enjoy the sport.
She said: “I hope it helps to overcome a barrier that might have been there and gives them the confidence to play, knowing that they have the right footwear.”
The 28-year-old joined Oxford United in February 2023 and made 21 appearances for Liam Gilbert’s side this season as they finished fourth in the FA WNL Southern Premier Division.
She visited Wood Farm Primary School again last month to deliver the boots and meet two girls from the team.
Louise Holman, Deputy Head of Wood Farm, said: “It’s brilliant, it’s just so generous of her to go out and do this. We’re really grateful and I know the girls will be too.
“It just means that the children here can play football and we’re going to have the right equipment to play even better than we are now.”
