Women’s Team visit Oxford Primary Schools
Three players from Oxford United Women visited three different schools last week as part of Premier League Primary Stars.
On Monday 9 February, Ellie-Mae Richardson and Holly Turner attended New Marston Primary and Windmill Primary to take part in a Q&A, pose for photos and sign autographs.
The players also encouraged the schoolchildren to attend Oxford United Women’s upcoming match against Charlton Athletic in the Fifth Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
The fixture takes place at the nearby MGroup Stadium on Sunday 22 February and Under-16s can secure their ticket for free. The children were incentivised with finding out that the school which brings the most pupils will win a visit by another player as well as a signed Oxford United shirt.
On Tuesday 10 February, midfielder Jenna Legg surprised a class of young girls at Wood Farm Primary to support with a resilience workshop before sharing insights into her career.
Launched in 2017, and available to every primary school in England and Wales, Oxford United in the Community is one of more than 104 professional football club community organisations across England and Wales delivering Premier League Primary Stars, supporting pupils in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. There have been more than 20 million attendances by primary school pupils at club-led sessions to date.

Following her visit, Ellie-Mae said: “I’m hoping the children will be more encouraged to get into the sport.
“We also want them to come down and support our team. We’ve got a big game coming up and have been putting a lot of work in, so hopefully they’ll be willing to come down and watch.”
It’s Holly Turner’s second school visit in recent weeks, having delivered a workshop to children at Bure Park Primary School in Bicester last month.
She said: “It’s always puts a smile on my face coming in and you can see you’ve made a difference in the children’s day, so I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Tickets are still available for Oxford United Women’s match with Charlton Athletic. Don’t miss out – you can still purchase yours HERE.
