As part of Premier League Primary Stars, three Oxford United stars took part in a press conference with a twist.

Instead of facing the press, Jack Currie, Riva Casley and Euan Griffith were put under the cosh by a class of students at Wood Farm Primary School.

Launched in 2017, and available to every primary school in England and Wales, Oxford United in the Community is one of more than 104 professional football club community organisations across England and Wales delivering Premier League Primary Stars, supporting pupils in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. There have been more than 20 million attendances by primary school pupils at club-led sessions to date.

The three players took their place in the hot seat as the schoolchildren turned reporters and hit them with some hard-hitting questions. After covering important topics such as their best goal and favourite boots, the players shared powerful advice on overcoming setbacks and building resilience.

It was the first time that Oxford United in the Community had been able to bring together representatives from each of the Academy, Men’s Team and Women’s Team. Euan is a first-year scholar within the Club’s Academy, while Jack and Riva have been ever-present in the Men’s and Women’s Teams respectively this season.

Rob Huff, Schools Coordinator at Oxford United in the Community, said: “It was amazing to see the children’s faces when all three players walked in.

“I feel they really benefitted from seeing their role models up close and they got the opportunity to ask them whatever they wanted.”
