Oxford United in the Community supports University research

Oxford United in the Community attended the University of Oxford’s Football on the Brain conference earlier this week.
The University’s research project explores the connections between football and neuroscience, helping players, coaches and supporters understand how the brain impacts fitness and technique.
A mix of researchers and sport professionals attended Iffley Road Sports Centre on Wednesday to attend Football on the Brain’s inaugural conference.
Our COO, Chris Lowes, gave a speech on how Oxford United in the Community is aiding the University’s research through delivering unique coaching drills.
Louise Aukland is Education Lead for the Football on the Brain project and spoke on the importance of collaboration with local sporting organisations.
She said: “We’ve been working collaboratively to develop football activities, such as the holiday camps at Oxford United in the Community, so that we can get kids excited about their brains and learning more about it.”
