Holly Turner takes part in primary school workshop
Holly Turner visited Bure Park Primary School this week to take part in a resilience workshop.
The Oxford United Women’s striker joined a class a Bure Park Primary School in Bicester on Monday as part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme.
Launched in 2017, and available to every primary school in England and Wales, Oxford United in the Community is one of more than 104 professional football club community organisations across England and Wales delivering Premier League Primary Stars, supporting pupils in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. There have been more than 20 million attendances by primary school pupils at club-led sessions to date.
Holly used her experiences of the highs and lows of football to speak to the schoolchildren about resilience.
Following this, the class had the opportunity to ask Holly questions about her career before securing her autograph and posing for photos.

On her visit, Holly said: “I think it really bridges that gap between the community and us as players. We want a lot of people to follow us so showing that we can give that back is really important as well.
“Sometimes, until somebody asks you a question, you don’t really think about certain things. There were some questions in there today about things I hadn’t thought about in a long time and it’s really nice to refer to the past and see how far I’ve come.”
Holly is the second player to visit an Oxfordshire primary school in recent weeks, after Naomi Bedeau delivered an identity workshop at St Mary’s in Banbury, as Oxford United in the Community continue their strong partnership with the Women’s Team.
